About Contact Lens Fitting/Refitting Fees, Material Costs (for Lenses and Solution), and Policies
Our contact lens fees are intended to cover the cost of all fit/delivery and follow-up visits required to obtain a successful fit/refit within the first three months. (The fitting/refitting fees do not include the cost of materials (for lenses and solution)). Where applicable fitting/refitting fees include:
- Professional fitting of your contacts
- Instruction and training in proper insertion, removal, and care
- Follow-up to monitor ocular health related to contact lens wear
- Emergency or problem-solving contact lens visits
Special notes about our contact lens services:
- Fitting/refitting fees and contact lens costs depends on individual needs and contact lens types. Please contact our office for more information.
- The fitting/refitting fees do not include the cost of materials (for lenses and solution). Low cost contact lenses and solutions are available to our patients following a clinically successful fit.
- A 6 month contact lens evaluation/progress check ($40.00) may be recommended especially for first time wearers.
- Once fit successfully, an annual contact lens evaluation/progress check ($40.00) is a minimum requirement/recommendation if you wish to purchase contact lenses from our clinic.
- Emergency or problem-solving contact lens visits after the first three months of a contact lens fitting/refitting are $40.00 per required visit.
- Because we are unable to provide contact lenses without appropriate care, clinically required contact lens evaluation/progress checks to monitor and manage contact lens related complications are a minimum requirement if you wish to purchase contact lenses from our clinic.
- The B.C. Medical Services Plan (MSP) does not cover any contact lens related evaluations. Coverage may be available through your extended health benefits.
- In the uncommon situation where a change in contact lens type or power is clinically required as per your optometrist's recommendation, all unopened and unmarked contact lens boxes may be exchanged or returned for credit within one year of the date of purchase from us. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept boxes that have had packaging such as UPC symbols removed and submitted for manufacturer's rebates where applicable.
- We strongly recommend that all of our contact lens patients have reasonably up-to-date eyeglasses. 10% discount is available on spectacle lenses and/or frames within one year of the purchase of contact lenses. (** 10% discount does not apply to packages) Please note that although we strive to maintain this webpage as current as possible, we reserve the ability to change our policies or fees at anytime to reflect the requirements or costs of providing the required services.
