Doctors
of Optometry (optometrists)
are primary health care providers who specialize in the examination,
diagnosis, treatment, management of diseases and disorders of the visual
system, the eye, and associated structures. This can include the provision
of eyeglasses, contact lenses, vision training, visual-perceptual evaluations
and low vision services if necessary. Referrals are made for consultation
to the appropriate practitioner for treatment of ocular and systemic
diseases or for eye surgery. In British Columbia over 80% of primary
eye examinations are performed by optometrists.
Since we were established
in 1996, our goal at the Mission Eye Clinic has always been to
consistently provide high quality comprehensive optometric care in the
community. We have developed a hard-earned reputation in the
community as a primary centre for excellence in eye care and
eyewear. Our doctors are experienced professionals
who are dedicated to providing the best possible patient care available
today. This is facilitated by our strong relations
with the community's family physicians and ophthalmologists. Our
friendly and knowledgeable staff always strives to make your
visit enjoyable. The Mission Eye Clinic is a fully equipped
computerized office which includes a large eyeglass
dispensary and our own eyeglass edging lab.
Our services include
full optometric eye examinations, ocular disease management,
professional eyeglass dispensing services, contact lens fitting
and follow-up services, and refractive surgery pre/post-operative
care. We also specialize in children's vision, vision
training, management of learning-related vision problems,
